Sol and Son Dual Language Academy

Sol and Son Dual Language Academy

Sol & Son Dual Language Academy will open in August 2025 in Franklin, North Carolina, marking Macon County’s first Spanish-English dual language immersion micro-school. Founded by David and Kelsey Parrish, the academy aims to provide a holistic, Christ-centered education that fosters bilingualism and cultural understanding.

The school will initially serve Kindergarten and 1st grade students, with a half-day enrichment program available for children aged 2–4. The curriculum employs an 80/20 Spanish-to-English immersion model, integrating both native English and Spanish speakers to create a linguistically rich environment. This approach promotes fluency, cross-cultural empathy, and academic excellence from the outset.

Operating as a micro-school, Sol & Son offers a personalized and community-driven educational experience, blending elements of homeschooling with traditional classroom settings. The academy will be located on the lower level of Franklin First Assembly of God Church at 1150 E Main Street, and renovations are currently underway to prepare the space for students.

To support accessibility, Sol & Son is in the process of becoming an approved recipient of the North Carolina Opportunity Scholarship, which assists families with tuition costs. Applications for the 2025–2026 school year will open in early 2025. Prospective families are encouraged to complete an interest form and schedule a family meet-up to learn more about the program.
