How to Hide Your House from Google Earth

There are a few reasons why someone might want to hide their home from Google Earth. Here are a few of the most common reasons:

  • Privacy: Some people may feel that their privacy is being invaded by having their home visible on Google Earth. This is especially true for people who live in secluded areas or who have valuable possessions.
  • Security: Burglars and other criminals can use Google Earth to get a look at people's homes and learn about their security systems. This information can be used to plan a break-in.
  • Safety: People who have been the victims of domestic violence or stalking may want to hide their home from Google Earth to protect themselves from their abuser.
  • Personal reasons: Some people simply don't want their home to be visible on Google Earth for personal reasons. This could be due to religious beliefs, political views, or simply a desire for privacy.

If you are considering hiding your home from Google Earth, you can request that Google blur it out.

Here are the steps on how to do it:

  1. Go to Google Maps and search for your home address.
  2. Click on the Street View image of your home.
  3. Click on the three dots in the top right corner of the screen.
  4. Select "Report a problem."
  5. Select "My home" from the "Request blurring" section.
  6. Drag the red square to fit around your home.
  7. Click "Submit."

It may take some time for Google to process your request, but once it is approved, your home will be blurred out on Google Earth.

Here are some additional things to keep in mind:

  • You can only request to blur your home if it is visible on Google Street View.
  • Google may not be able to blur your home if it is located in a public place, such as a park or street.
  • If you move, you will need to submit a new request to blur your new home.
